The ablum: Songs From District 12 and Beyond was primarily produced for movie “The Hunger  Games”. The music was arranged and scored by James Newton Howard, an American composer, best known for scores to motion pictures.

The movie trilogy features the books: The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay. The soundtrack of the movie hunger games was released March 20, 2012.The music comes in 16 final tracks.

The tracks are produced by beautiful, mega talented and Grammy Award Winner. For good reason, it is a highly anticipated piece of music that nearly every one that have watched the movie wish to get. Personally, I was thrilled by the intro to most of the scene the very first time I watched the movie.

Perhaps it was due to my zeal for music? May be!

You will possibly be blown away by the richness of the sounds and skills that resonate thoughtout the album. It’s a fact that the soundtrack will later in future gain a huge follow ups based on the quality and producer of the pieces render by Grammy Award winner Taylor Swift, Kid Cudi, Jayme Dee,  Miranda Lambert and many more.

Taylor swift did a masterful job in the lead video – Safe and sound, from the film that was debuted on MTV.

The Movie: The Hunger Games

 The movie Hunger Games is produced from the book trilogy “The Hunger Games” as authored by Suzanne Collins. The book was first published in 2008 with over 20, 000 copies sold and recommended as one of the most read book of the time. The book trilogy has really entice several fans and some even compare it to the Twilight and Harry Potter.

The story is about a Game that takes place annually during the post - apocalyptic world called Panem, a place where the current North American continent is located. The Capitol is a very advanced state and rules over all the other nations. Two participants, usually from 12 – 18 years old are chosen from the districts to join the Hunger Games. In a broad term, the game is about the last-man-standing. The participants are to kill each other until one remains. Although, it is called a game by the Capitol, but to me it is more of punishment to abiders seeing their children in the verge of death, all in the name of a game?

The game deals with the survival of the fittest it does dives a little into politics and more of how the people are beign treated by the Capitol.

The following are the main character in the movie: Katniss Everdeen, Peeta Mellark, Primrose Everdeen, Gale Hawthorne, Haymitch Abernathy, President Snow, Caesar Flickerman, and Effie Trinket.

The Hunger Games Series begins in the District of Panem, and the story starts with the introduction of Katniss Everdeen. K. Everdeen is a girl from a poor background. She hunts  illegally for food just to feed her family. During her regular practice in search for bread, now comes the time of reaping for the annuall events. Boys and girls are chosen from each district. A boy from from a medium – class family, Peeta Mellark, and Katniss’ sister Primrose were chosen. Katniss volunteered herself for the game to save her sister. The girls and boys are pulled from a lottery and everything is televised for everyone to watch. Katniss Everdeen is from district 12 with Peeta Mellark, whom she knows from school.

The participants, known as the tributes, are prepared for the games. Katniss and Peeta, guided with a mentor, embarked on the dangerous competition. There are turns and twists as the Katniss, Peeta, and the other tributes strive to stay alive in this game of survival. Katniss ends up being more than just a girl trying to save her younger sister.
